Introduction Lobby Installation 

Story:  When you’re young and lost who you are you look for signs.  You are 

superstitious.  The boy looks at the poem about crows (one for something and two 

for something else…look it up!!)   

Interaction: 

Audience follow the small boy, journeying through birds feathers into theatre where 

they see the man for the first time…There is a large-scale installation in Lobby. 

Made of Feathers? If not what? 

Tiny LEDs?  

Sound – electronic or percussive (eg bells hidden in feathers)? 

Large scale feathers -  rustle of feathers, closeness, distorted scale, abacus. 

Kinetic feathers – Wind tunnel, animatronics, Mexican wave (ruffle feathers) 

Experience: 

Create sense of breathing, Disproportion, Claustrophobia, Disorientation (lighting 

low to accentuate hearing – Smell???)  Ancient, musty smell. 

Materials: 

Real Feathers, Replicating feathers, Material Feathers, Laser-cut feathers, Weft-Hair 

Feathers
