Please add to this post, these are some initial ideas for the characters, I'm hoping  they spark some further thoughts. . . 

Traveler

Goals: To explore to discover to keep moving

Likes: traveling, discovering, motion, the air, music, sensation, sunshine, lightness, laughter

Dislikes: Stillness, self-examination

Quirks, habits: Can’t stop walking

Archetype: The Virgin/Maiden/High Priestess - She is the guardian of the Mystery Temple of Solomon; Protectress of the Secret Wisdom that lifts human consciousness from the depths of materialism to the heights of illumination

Unraveller

Goals: To stay rooted - then: to find his love, the traveler

Likes: the earth, lines, clear paths, knowledge, stability

Dislikes: chaos, disruption

Quirks: Won’t move, talks to crows – later: obsessively follows string

Archetype:

String People

Goals: to obstruct the path of the unraveller

Likes: chaos

Dislikes: order, strictness, authority

Quirks, habits: lopsided walk, can only locomote when attached to the larger web of strings.

Archetype: Shapeshifter - The Shapeshifter's mask misleads the Hero by hiding a character's intentions and loyalties

Trickster -- Tricksters relish the disruption of the status quo, turning the Ordinary World into chaos with their quick turns of phrase and physical antics

Pin People/Stars

Pin People

Goals: to burst the bubbles, spurring the release of personal secrets, the characteristics that give traveler color and life

Likes: unison, order, power

Dislikes:

Quirks, habits: always move in exact unison with their group, magnetized to their opposite shape: bubble belles.

Archetype: The Herald -- Herald characters issue challenges and announce the coming of significant change

Stars

Goals: To show the bond of the lovers through time

Likes: Love

Dislikes: Hate

Quirks: illuminates when touched

Archetype:

Bubble Belles/Cloud ladies

Bubble Belles

Goals: to magnify the self in order for it to be examined and known

Likes: Knowledge, truth, revealing secrets

Dislikes: darkness, lies

Quirks, habits: can’t balance, constantly tumbling

Archetype:

Cloud Ladies

Goals: to release the inner truths of the traveler.  To illuminate the path of the unraveller

Likes: Wetness, chaos, color, truth

Dislikes: Secrets, stagnation, dryness

Quirks, habits: fluid, ephemeral, untouchable

Archetype:

Crows

Goals: to illuminate to the characters who they are and what they might become.

Likes: companionship, knowledge

Dislikes: cages

Quirks:

Archetype: Wise Old Man -- In works of fiction, this kind of character is typically represented by a kind and wise, older father-type figure who uses personal knowledge of people and the world, to help tell stories and offer guidance, that in a mystical way illuminate to his audience a sense of who they are and who they might become.
